CLEARING THE WATERS

A SACRED CONVERGENCE

Life, in its mysterious orchestration, often unfolds in ways we least expect. After the call of the dolphins, I found myself drawn to Bimini — a place that began to feel like home, a home I hadn’t known I was seeking. Here, I created my Life is Golden retreat, a celebration of vitality and aliveness. I discovered that Bimini means "Mother of Many Waters," a revelation that struck me deeply, preparing me for something greater.

In the days leading up to a moment of clarity, I encountered women navigating their most vulnerable moments. Stories of domestic violence, rape, loss, and the revisiting of old traumas. These were the waters they were submerged in — deep, murky waters of pain and survival. And as each woman shared her story, I realized that these personal struggles were part of a greater collective healing.

Each woman’s journey was like a droplet falling into an ocean of shared experiences, creating ripples far beyond the individual. The Mother of Many Waters called us into a current of collective healing, showing me that our healing is intertwined with the healing of our communities and the collective wounds we carry.

And in this, we share the currency of care — the energy we give, receive, and exchange in service to each other's growth and wellbeing. It is this currency, rooted in love and compassion, that drives the tides of collective transformation.

On the night of the collision, I almost stayed in. But something urged me outside, towards the beach. As I crossed the street, a car struck me. The sound of convergence reverberated. The impact was sharp, but strangely, I walked away feeling like I had shed old skin. My leg was injured, and while the pain was intense, I felt whole.

In that moment, I realized the waters I had been called to clear weren’t just my own. They were collective. The driver, deeply apologetic and unaware of his actions, was preoccupied with his dog — symbolizing how disconnected we can sometimes be from the larger impact of our actions. Yet, as the moment unfolded, a network of women showed up to support me: one held my arm, another called 911, and a third offered to take me to the hospital.

The chaos — paramedics, fire trucks — felt surreal, yet it reminded me that healing often comes in waves. It’s messy and unexpected, but profound when we allow it. In the midst of it all, there was love, connection, and support — an exchange of the currency of care that wove us all together in that moment.

Later, as I shared a slice of pizza with one of the women who had stayed by my side, another woman shared her resilience — she’d been struck by cars three times while biking. Our conversation reminded me that we’re all walking parallel paths, carrying our wounds but also the wisdom to heal together.

Bimini, the Mother of Many Waters, is a metaphor for the deep waters we all carry. Clearing these waters isn’t easy, but when we come together as a community, we find the strength to rise and heal.

Together, in the deepest layers, we let go.
